Cemita de milanesa
Milanes Cemita
La China Poblana
3568 Whittier Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90023
(323) 263-8310

La China Poblana located in the traditional streets of East LA or like many know it EASTLOS! On the corner of Whittier Blvd. & Esperanza st. this joint is only a 5 minute drive from Downtown (with no traffic) This place is always a different experience, whether there is a mariachi duo trying to cop a buck by playing some tunes, or a single man doing his thing acapella, or a plain quiet evening. It's always something different but always the same great food! Whether you are getting the popular cemita de milanesa or a more daring cemita de pata(pickled pig feet) you can't go wrong. Although these may look like your traditional tortas, they are more than that. These are a traditional "sandwich" served in the artistic city of Puebla, Mexico.

They are called cemitas because of the sesame seeds that are on top
of the bread adding to its unique taste. So here is the break down,
cemitas consist of the bread, your choice of meat,
The menu on the traditional "talavera"
(check out the picture of the plate) queso fresco, avocado, and either jalapenos or the traditional chipotle chilies that most people
prefer. It may seem like something simple, but believe me that this is full of flavor that you will be craving it till you get your next cemita fix! If you like avocado feel free to order extra avocado, they don't kid around when they say extra. If you don't want to get your hands dirty you might want to take some baby wipes because these bad boys can get messy and will get messy if not handled correctly. When you are looking for a big meal for not much cash this might be the place for you since they have such affordable prices.

ONLY $16 FOR ALL OF THIS!!

This place isn't the best at organization so make sure you keep your ear out for your food and for some reason people there seem to take they're problems to work, because they can either be super nice and helpful or just make you want to leave! Remember though, you are there for the food don't let it ruin your meal if it is that you catch the cashier on a bad day. For the most part its always a pleasant experience. Let me know how it goes and remember eating makes people happy!!!

PROS: Good food, good prices

CONS: Disorganized at times, staff can suck at times, out door seating only
